2009 NightOwl Classic - this Saturday!
PLEASE NOTE: Online registration has ended. However, you may still sign-up for the ride on-site beginning at 5:30PM Saturday (8/22). Sorry, we've reached 500 riders and only limited shirts/sizes are remaining. If we do not have your size upon signing in for the ride, you may pay an additional $3.00 on-site and have your correct shirt/size shipped direct to you within two weeks of the ride. Sorry for any inconvenience. Enjoy the ride!
The Night Owl Classic is a non-competitive bike ride along the Mississippi River at dusk. The ride will start and finish near historic St. Anthony Main and tour the Twin Cities beautiful riverfront district and well known landmarks.
The ride will be divided into to start times - the 8.5-mile 'Family Flight' starting at 7:00PM and the 16.5 mile 'Hoot Loop' which takes off at 8:00PM. Parkways will be closed for riders with the entire course re-opening to traffic at 11:00PM. River crossings such as Plymouth Avenue bridge, Franklin Avenue bridge and Ford Parkway will be shared with traffic but divided and controlled for rider safety. Riders with children, families or less-experienced riders are encouraged to take the 8.5 mile ride. The 16.5 mile ride is for more experienced riders only. Helmets, bike light(s) and reflectors required for all participants. No pets please.
